Using CUNYfirst
Getting Started: General Information click

CUNYfirst is an Internet-based application built on the PeopleSoft Enterprise platform. You may access this application at any location with Internet access. An Identity Management System secures all of the data. You will be assigned a User ID and you will create your own password. Security access allows you to use all of the functionality that you need. Your access is restricted from any functionality that you do not need. The list of general help files below plus the help files geared specifically for students, faculty or staff should get you started in CUNYfirst.

Campus Solutions: Administrative Staff
In order to modify security roles (for access to functions you do not have or that you want to remove from your account) Faculty and Staff must review and complete a Campus Solutions Security Access Request Form and submit it through the appropriate approval process in order to be granted access to Campus Solutions. Note: All faculty and staff have been assigned initial security roles, however, they may need to be modified to include (or remove) functions that are needed in the course of performing their usual duties.
CUNYfirst Security for Campus Solutions

The following checklist has been provided to guide faculty and staff and their managers (e.g. Directors, Deans, Chairs) through the security process:

1. Identify Appropriate Template/Form

Employees and their managers must review and select a Campus Solutions Security template that best reflects the roles necessary for their daily job. These templates are fillable PDFs and provide the minimal roles necessary for various job functions.

Managers may revise these templates by adding and/or removing security roles when necessary.

Note: All security requests are subject to review and approval.

Supporting Documentation:
2. Manager (Dean, Chair, Director) Approval/Signature

The employee’s manager must ensure that all required fields are completed and necessary signatures are on the printed paper form.

3. Business Owner (Registrar) Approval/Signature

Once the employee and manager have signed off on the security request form they must submit the printed paper form to the Office of Registrar for review. The Registrar will approve or deny any Student Records request and determine if other business owner approvals are needed, e.g., Admissions, Bursar, or Financial Aid.
