Q2. What is an EMPLID and why is it important?
A2. EMPLID is a unique eight-digit personal identification number used in the CUNYfirst system used as a Student ID or Employee ID. It’s important to record your eight-digit EMPLlD! From now on, it will be used to identify you in CUNYfirst and across campus.
Also, please make a note of your CUNYfirst username (which includes your first dot last name followed by the last two digits of your EMPLlD).
Q3. What are the password requirements for CUNYfirst?
A3. Your password must be:
at least 8 characters long
contain at least 1 uppercase letter
contain at least one numeric character OR one special character
must not be one of 4 previous passwords.
Q4. What do I do if I forget my password?
A4. Visit the CUNYfirst website, choose “Forgot your Password,” and follow the instructions.
Q5. Can I use my personal e-mail for CUNYfirst?
A5. Yes. When claiming your CUNYfirst account, you may enter a personal email. Make sure to use an email you have access to.
Q6. Does CUNYfirst work on Macs?
A6. Yes, but it is advised to use Mozilla Firefox.
Q7. Which browser is recommended for CUNYfirst access?

Q1. How do I find out my enrollment date/time?
A1. Log into CUNYfirst> Student Center> Course Planning and Enrollment> Enrollment Dates
Q2. Where do I see my current class schedule?
A2. Student Center> Course Planning and Enrollment> View My Class Schedule
Q3. Where do I see the searchable schedule of classes?
A3. Student Center> Schedule
Q4. I’ve placed my classes in the shopping cart. Does that mean I’ve registered for those classes?
A4. No, putting classes in your shopping cart does NOT mean you have enrolled in those classes. You MUST click “Get This Schedule” button, change action to Enroll, then select Do Action.
Q5. Where can I see my unofficial transcript?
A5. Student Center> Transcript and Verification> View Unofficial Transcript
Q6. There are holds on my CUNYfirst account. What should I do?
A6. If you see a hold on your CUNYfirst account, click on the Tasks and Holds module to determine the academic or administrative office that issued the stop/hold on your record. Reconcile the stop/hold by calling or visiting the issuing office.
Q7. I forgot to write down my EMPLID; how do I retrieve it in CUNYfirst?
A7. Student Center> View Profile module
Q8. I am graduating in September, do I use CUNYfirst to apply for graduation?
A8. Yes. To apply, log into CUNYfirst> Student Center> Graduation> Apply for Graduation
Q9. Social Security Number is needed to claim a CUNYfirst account. I don’t have one. How do I claim my account?
A9. To claim your account, you will need to enter your First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. If you do not have a Social Security number, please use the last 4 digits of your 9-digit City College Admissions-assigned ID. If you don’t remember your 9-digit ID number, contact the office of Registrar to retrieve it.
Q1. CUNYfirst tells me I have duplicate accounts. What should I do?
A1. Students may inform either the Office of Registrar or the CUNYfirst Helpline that they have duplicate accounts. The Office of Registrar will need to verify information in order to delete the secondary account.
