Overview of CUNYfirst
While CUNYfirst has been a part of The City College of New York for some time, a significant portion (Campus Solutions) was started April 2014. CUNYfirst stands for City University of New York Fully Integrated Resources and Services Tool, and it replaced the outdated computer systems in three main areas—academic functions and student records, human resources, plus procurement and purchasing.
As a result, many City College processes are being streamlined and standardized, from registering for classes, paying bills, and updating personal information to viewing rosters, posting grades, and purchasing and procuring items. CUNYfirst will broadly impact functions that students, faculty, and staff were used to performing in SIMS/eSIMS, which no longer exists.
CUNYfirst consists of the following components.
- Campus Solutions allows students to enroll in classes, pay bills online, view their academic and financial information and more. Campus Solutions also allows faculty to view class rosters, verify enrollment, post grades and perform other academic functions online. Most full-time faculty will have access to the Advising Center feature.
- Financial Supply Chain (purchasing and procurement) is the system of record for all State tax-levy purchasing, accounts payable and budgeting transactions.
- Human Resources (also known as Human Capital Management or HCM) allows faculty and staff to view and update their personal information online.
- Admissions and Financial Aid components will be available at a later date.
